I feel this because while I still love makeup. I have so many eyeshadows that nothing is new and exciting to me. Im greatful that the color stories of the palettes I have still make me happy but yeah. Ive been slowly decluttering as well.

I have Hela and Jewels and Gem. I don't reach for them everyday, but when I do I'm happy with my looks and they still bring me joy. No hardpan yet...though I haven't swatched them fully in a while so maybe I should check?! I always use my fingers for shimmers 🤷‍♀️
I think judicious decluttering is a healthy process, it always gives me a renewed enthusiasm for what I end up keeping!

I never bought thing from Odens eye. In the past when I was tempted something else came out from another brand and I changed my mind.

Love this as a series. Let’s talk about what we already have? Always yes! Odens Eye is on pause for me. I have to admit that they’ve been on pause since last year. I just feel like the first of things they do are best and then the next iteration just doesn’t rise to expectation. For example the first holiday palettes were fab and then the next were meh and this year was ok for one palette only. The first Solmane palette versus the second Solmane palette. That duo palette should have been separated. But I want to cheer them on for trying new things. Their singles collection has been a hit with me but they need to lay off putty formulas and overly flaky formulas - do less of these is my advice but ok to include a couple here and there for those who like them. I did like that they did mattes and I got most of them and the formula is good but not out of this world. The extension of the shimmer and multichromes included too many iffy formulas. So again they need to really think about how they do second/third/fourth iterations

I purchased a lot all of OE thinking the color stories were pretty. But I don't have one left. I gave them all away. I felt the same way about MJFF palette. I used it once and got rid of it. It was not pigmented and very Powdery. LOREN when I first started watching her was bright and vibrant eye colors. She more a neutral girl with shimmery toppers. I even bought the first Xmas palettes twice and still got rid of them. They don't move me. I have sooo many palettes that do move me with other brands.

I have always been curious about odens eye. But something about them I could never get on board with. I have seen people declutter and say they never reach for odens eye many times and that makes me feel good about my decision to never waste my money. Haha

I have the same problem with my odens eye palettes. I’m gonna do a declutter of most of them. I love the legendary diversa palettes I’m probably gonna keep those. Mostly for nostalgia. Thanks for sharing

Omg thank you for reminding me Oden's eye exists. Need to whip out my fancy face collab palette. I seriously have been using Neutral mattes from Viseart and Love's Journey from Sydney Grace on repeat, which is why I'm on a palette no buy.

I bought into the hype and constant rave reviews about OE but every single palette has been a disappointment (I bought and decluttered five). The mattes are simultaneously hard pressed and have a lot of kick up, the colors always look muted on my skin unless I pack it on, and the color stories are "meh". I wanted to like them but im over it.

Well done Cara! I own an embarrassing amount of oe palettes but sadly never got my hands on the xmas '22 palettes! I wish they had kept them permanent. I also hate that the shimmers hardpan! So annoying!

I have never purchased from OE, just not a fan of the shape of the eyeshadow pans.

Oh my last comment 😅😅coffee is making me chatty. I wet brush my Odens Eye shimmers because I see Angeschka doing this 😅.
I think we should keep our makeup in good condition and resell it. I am now 💯 on board with this. This year I took a chance and made several purchases off Mercari and the sellers were so nice and professional through the entire process. Everyone did a good job presenting and being honest about the palettes I bought and all was shipped well wrapped and with great care. I bought PMLs Bronze seduction and two of the 6 pan MYHRSHPs as well as the first holiday mega mthrshp and when I tell you how pleased I was with the condition and price. Ofcourse you do have to shop around and be wise when choosing sellers. And make sure you are not buying something that is available at a better price with the actual brand. Girl, they got some truly delusional people on Mercari but common sense will keep you away from these peeps. So although there are fees and such, you can do quite well on the buying side. Cara, I know you sell on Mercari, can you talk about your experience as a seller? So those of us with overflowing collections can consider this as an option for downsizing our collections as needed

Thanks, Cara. Hope Markie’s surgery goes smoothly. 🙏🏾
I love Oden’s Eye but have noticed the same hard panning in my palettes. I haven’t bought any this year because the colour stories didn’t work for me.
I continue to get heavy use out of the Red Dragon palette (perfect neutral with a pop of red for everyday), Hummingbird palette (just paired it with the Merry Xmas palette yesterday!), Hela palette (original green, it has been a great travel palette for me), and the Xmas palette (adore it; bought it last year after missing our in 2022).
    Thanks for this great video!

I love odens eye . I bought all 4 of the Christmas fro last year and this year. I never use my fingers to put on shadows. Primer and oils from your fingers can destroy any palette. Get some long high end sponge applicators . We never used or fingers in the early days of colorful makeup.

I hope Markie is feeling ok after his procedure? OE hurts my feelings with their most gorge shimmers drying up and getting hardpan. It's always the prettiest ones, ugh! What brand will you do next? I'm loving your content based on your current collection and careful consideration about bringing in more!

Odens eyes matted are crazy!!! I prefer them more than BlendBunny and Cosmic Brushes… but I’m also a clear primer on the lid lover… Odens eye mattes have insane grip on the lid ! I need you do some looks! I thought you were practicing?? I want to see the looks!! You have such a gorgeous look, I can’t wait to see it!!

Hi Cara. I really hope that Markie is feeling better after his dental surgery. I used to listen to music through my headphones during dental treatments. It felt less nervous.
I think these type of declutter videos will be helpful per brand versus all of the brands together also for selling purpose. I can see the processing and basing your choices on your present style, any similar color stories and simplifying your collection. It is OK for any of us as we evolve and changes occur base on our preferences to rehome, resell, gift or dispose of the palettes. We can only use so much in our collection.
I don't own any Oden's Eye. I have been curious about the brand. I suggest perhaps try to make sure your fingertips are completely dry and free of any other products especially oils. Finding a great packing brush may be an option such as silicone glitter packer brush. Not sure if it will be better, it may help with adherence and applying without the fingers.
All eyeshadow formulas should be free of hard pan.
Lauren's palette is good for one and done or duo eye looks perhaps. The citrine yellow, she used (may still do) to put in her inner corner a lot for a signature look. Hey Reindeer is cute. Can you magnetic rearrange any of the shadows in these palettes?
I personally say keep only the palettes that you absolutely see yourself using for both neutrals and colors. Even if you're not doing as much color shadow looks, perhaps keep 1 or 2 that you can resort back for colorful times and days. Keep one or so for the grungy greens. You do love those greens! You should do your favorite green eyeshadows from palettes and/or singles.

I feel 100 percent same as you!! I thought i was the only one. And they just don't make me happy. The quality of their formula doesn't work for me. I hope markie's surgery goes well.

The giant wolves shade is so sad same thing happened to mine along with a few others. I bought a few things from them last year that I still haven’t used so I’m definitely better in that aspect. Hoping Markie feels good sending him all the positive energy..

I haven’t experienced hard pan with my odens shadows but I don’t love some of their shimmer formula. They aren’t fun to apply… the texture and consistency of some of them… not as much a pleasure to use as so many others I have. I think it’s the binder… it’s too much or too greasy or something 😩😩

Get rid of the luxury shadows. I had to buy those in the 80 s but they seriously are Meh pigment. Your paying for the name and the compact. I dont buy luxury and havent in many years thankfully cause of all the great indie out there.

If your putting primers and eye creams on with your fingers and then you go in the shadow , your putting oils in the shadows. The trend is neutrals right but trust me it will go back to color and then you may wish you never parted with some of your shadows. Put them up on mercari . Sounds like your feeling somewhat like u spent to much . I know the feeling . I do it. Its addicting.

What makes me mad about odens eye they're not sweetish. My pallets from day 1 1st pallet shipped from the southwest usa to me here in Northern California. I sent an email because i wax told by all influencers " they're sweetish" on thw back they stare made in PRC or china. Odens eye responds yes all us products made in prc sent to a wear-house here nothing is in Sweden

But the owners are in Sweden and are Swedish. There are U.S small businesses that use manufacturers out of Asia/China buy their still U.S brands. Hmm
